
Emma Sanderson
Research Assistant
Emma Sanderson joined IGA in summer 2025 as a research assistant. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in International Relations at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where she is a Public Service Fellow focusing on security, strategy, and statecraft with a regional emphasis on Latin America.
Previously, Emma was a research and communications assistant in U.S. foreign policy at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, where she focused on restraint-oriented national security strategy. She has also conducted research on U.S.-Africa policy and counterterrorism in sub-Saharan Africa as a Marcellus Policy Fellow with the John Quincy Adams Society, and received training in diplomatic tradecraft through the Washington International Diplomatic Academy.
