Lucas Wittmann
Lucas Wittmann is the cochairman and cofounder of House of SpeakEasy, an organization which connects readers and authors through an acclaimed series of literary cabarets and fosters an appreciation of literature among students in underserved communities. Lucas is also the editorial director at TIME. He previously served as the executive editor and associate publisher at Reagan Arts and was the literary editor at The Daily Beast and Newsweek.
Lucas is steeped in the world of publishing, literary culture, and books. He has spoken on NPR and at CUNY, Colombia, NYU, and the New School. He organized and hosted the inaugural New York 5×15 events series in 2012/13 and is a judge of the New York Public Library’s Young Lions Fiction Prize. Lucas is also the recipient of a 2012 National Magazine Award.
Lucas attended Oxford University, Georgetown University, and the Colombia University Publishing course.
